How We Research and Verify

A statement should not sound more certain than its evidence.

Published

Five kinds of evidence

Official
An identifiable primary source supports what was announced or published. An announcement does not prove that every live server or client currently behaves that way.
Community report
A dated player report, support discussion or gameplay recording. A single workaround remains a case, not a universal fix; old footage describes the build it shows.
Tested
Reserved for first-hand reproduction with an identified tester, game version, date, steps and recorded result. Reading a guide or watching a video does not count. A tested calculator formula does not mean its game mechanics were play-tested.
Calculated
Arithmetic using the displayed inputs and formula. Reliability depends on the data and assumptions. Unknown values are not silently replaced with zero.
Unverified
Evidence is incomplete, outdated or conflicting. The guide states what remains unknown rather than supplying a confident guess.

Dates describe different things

An announcement date, the build or season it concerns, a recording date and a page review date are different. A new source review does not turn old footage into a current playtest.

Updated marks a meaningful page review or correction. Individual source dates and historical tables keep their own labels. It does not mean every statement was retested in the current client.

Checks lead to an observable next step

A player workaround is not a guaranteed repair. We avoid unknown repair executables, repeated reinstalls and unexplained destructive changes. Player counts and announcements are clues, not a complete server-status diagnosis.

  • Identify the exact message, code or stage of failure.
  • Start with a low-cost comparison and explain what its result narrows down.
  • Choose the next check from that result, or preserve useful details for official support.

Keep costs and assumptions visible

A calculator shows its source, applicable season, inputs, formula and unknown values. Unlock fees, vendor prices and replacement costs are separate; XP is not cash.

The unlock budget covers one item. An unknown price keeps the full total unknown, while a known unlock fee can still show a partial cash gap. Sharing restores inputs and recalculates them; a link with an incompatible data version is rejected.

Drafting and translation are not evidence

Software, including automated drafting or translation tools, may help organise material. It is not a source. A claim still needs a checkable reference, a disclosed calculation or an explicit uncertainty label.

Translated guidance should use the same source version as the original. English-only resources are identified as English rather than presented as completed translations.

Corrections belong with the evidence

We review a reported difference against its source and applicable build before changing the guide. We do not treat one report as a general success rate.

Material corrections belong in the affected guide with its review date and relevant version. Older evidence may remain as a clearly labelled historical reference.
