Does WARDOGS have classes?

There is no fixed class loadout you must select before spawning. Bring medical tools to help wounded teammates, a hammer to build, or vehicle equipment for transport. You can combine jobs when your loadout has room, but a specialised item can still require a particular role level to unlock.

02

Which role should you start with?

There is no single best class for every match. For a first session, medical help or working with an established builder gives you a clear task without buying an unfamiliar aircraft. This is a starting recommendation, not a class tier list.

What levels up a role?

Role progression follows the specialist equipment and activities you use. Your Career level is not a substitute for a required Support, Driver or Pilot level. Check the item’s current track and level in game before choosing a progression target; the Season 1 tables below are historical references.

In Season 02 (Update 0.2.0), vehicle repair XP goes to Driver or Pilot depending on the vehicle being repaired, instead of Support. For Support, focus on useful building and supply work and check the role XP display after each action. Cash earned and delivered stock are separate results.

Season 02 moves the SPH-2 (Artillery Tank) from WARDOG / Career 90 to Driver 31 and reduces its unlock fee from $500,000 to $350,000. This fee is separate from the vendor purchase price. A lower level number does not mean immediate access: your Driver level must meet the requirement, and Career and Driver levels are different tracks.

Support: a practical building and supply route

Work at an active friendly FOB rather than buying an isolated base with no supplies. Use the building and supply route below to help your team. Vehicle repairs remain useful, but Update 0.2.0 awards their XP to Driver or Pilot, so they are not a Support-leveling method.

Season 02 changes logistics rewards: base rewards are lower, while consecutive crate or pallet deliveries can earn streak bonuses. The official patch notes give reward values and explain that the listed deposit values include Control Zone multipliers. Check the location and the role XP display; delivered stock, cash and role XP are separate results.

  1. Ask what the FOB needs: unfinished cover or a specific resource. Bring a hammer for building and arrange the missing supplies. If you switch to vehicle repairs, expect Driver or Pilot XP rather than Support XP.
  2. Use the hammer to finish defenses the team will use. Keep entrances and supply routes open instead of placing structures solely to fill space.
  3. For crate supplies, buy the needed items into your backpack, then transfer them into the FOB inventory. September player reports describe Support XP from these deposits. Do not assume that dropping an unopened crate or parking a pallet nearby performs the same action.
  4. Season 1 listed the Large Hammer at Support 8, with a $75,000 progression cost and a separate $2,400 vendor price. Check the current unlock and vendor screens before spending; these historical figures are not a guarantee for Season 02.

Season 02 pallet unlocks: levels and fees

These supply pallets now have WARDOG progression requirements. The listed amounts are in-game unlock fees, separate from what you pay to buy cargo from a vendor.

Please note: $85,000 is the sum of all three unlock fees. It is not the price of one delivery or a required starter bundle. Choose the resource your team needs, check the current prerequisites, and leave money for the vehicle and cargo.

Choose your next unlock by the job

Choose a target for the work you want to do, then check its progression track. These Season 02 options serve different tasks; hauling supplies uses the pallet requirements above.

  1. Pick a job your team needs and a tool you will use soon. Buy for that task instead of trying to unlock every item in level order.
  2. Check the item’s track, required level and prerequisites in the current progression screen. A higher level in another track does not replace its requirement.
  3. Budget for the unlock fee, the vendor purchase, ammunition or supplies, and another deployment. Delay optional purchases if the unlock would leave you unable to use or replace the equipment.

WARDOGS unlock budget calculator

Choose equipment, then use its progression track level and your current game cash. Unlocking an item and buying one copy are separate costs.

Your current target and budget

Medical Bag requires Medic level 14 and a $50,000 unlock fee.

Season 02 baseline: $1,800 for one purchase. Replace this with the price currently shown by your vendor.

Enter your level and cash to see what you can afford and what remains after buying.

A share link includes your entered game level, cash and vendor price. Anyone with the link can reopen that budget; it is not sent to site analytics.

Only one item purchase is included. Ammunition, extra supplies, transport and replacement losses are not included. This does not estimate time to level up or a future season reset.

Worked example: Medic level 12, $40,000 cash and a locked Medical Bag: reach 2 more Medic levels and earn $11,800 more to cover the $50,000 unlock plus one $1,800 purchase. At $60,000 cash and Medic 14, the same purchase leaves $8,200 for the next session.

Levels needed = required track level minus your current level, with a minimum of 0. Total cash needed = unpaid unlock fee + one purchase price. Cash gap = total minus current cash, with a minimum of 0. If the purchase price is unknown, you can still check a known unlock fee and its cash shortfall. The complete total stays unknown until both costs are known.

Official Season 02 patch notes — levels, unlock fees and the two verified purchase prices. If your current client shows a different price, enter it above and treat that calculation as using your entered vendor price.

Please note: The patch notes do not list a fee for the C4 track move. An earlier unlock does not establish that a weapon is stronger. Use the Season 1 tables below as historical references, not the current purchase order.

What are tanks, artillery and anti-air vehicles for?

Choose the vehicle for the job your team needs. A main battle tank, the SPH-2 and a Gepard fill different roles; reaching an unlock level does not make them interchangeable.

Before buying, identify the target, nearby friendly support, and a route to resupply or withdraw. Keep enough cash to operate or replace the vehicle. These role descriptions do not establish an optimal engagement distance or a guaranteed number of hits to survive.

Does progression reset?

The October 23 developer reply gives November 12, 2026 as the planned Season 3 date; the timing remains subject to later announcements. BULKHEAD’s published reset model resets cash and XP, converts remaining cash to Gold Bars, and retains Gold Bars and cosmetics. The exact reset hour and a full Season 3 exception list are not confirmed here.

A previous season’s Medic level does not carry through an XP reset. Check your current Medic track and the item’s lock status before buying a new loadout.

For Season 02, a locked Defibrillator requires Medic level 22 and a $110,000 unlock payment. Medical Bag is an earlier target at Medic level 14 and $50,000. These are unlock fees, not the price of buying equipment for a deployment. Once unlocked in the current season, budget separately for each purchase.

Use these values for Season 02 only. A future season can change the requirements; this is not a confirmed item-by-item Season 3 reset policy.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is there a best class?

Choose equipment for the task your team needs. Roles are not fixed loadouts, so a useful medic, builder or driver depends on the match rather than a universal ranking.

Why can I afford an item but not use it?

An item may also require a particular progression track and level. Check the unlock requirement separately from its vendor price.

What unlocks the Large Hammer?

Season 1 lists Support 8 and a $75,000 progression-track cost. Its separate vendor price is $2,400 in game.

Why is my defibrillator locked after a wipe?

Check your current Medic level and unlock status; your previous season’s XP does not survive the reset. In Season 02, a locked Defibrillator needs Medic 22 and a $110,000 unlock fee. Medical Bag is available earlier at Medic 14 and $50,000. Equipment purchases cost extra; future seasons may change these requirements.

Should I choose a tank, SPH-2 or Gepard?

Start with the task: L2A6 and T-72B3 are main battle tanks, SPH-2 fills the artillery role, and Gepard is anti-air. Season 02 lists T-72B3 at Driver 20, Gepard at 25 and SPH-2 at 31. Check the exact item’s current unlock and purchase screens, then budget for operating it as well as buying it.
